Friendswood Police Department veteran Josh Rogers appointed as police chief


On Nov. 6, Friendswood City Council appointed Josh Rogers to chief of police of the Friendswood Police Department.

Following the retirement announcement of former Police Chief Robert Weiners in October, Friendswood has a new chief: Josh Rogers, who has been part of the Friendswood Police Department since 1999.

The gist

On Nov. 6, Friendswood City Council appointed Josh Rogers to chief of police at FPD.

A 24-year veteran of the department, Rogers progressed through the ranks as a patrol officer, corporal, sergeant, assistant patrol division commander, patrol commander, criminal investigation division commander and deputy chief of police according to agenda documents.

According to agenda documents, Rogers has earned many awards, including: One more thing

Rogers attended Alvin Community College Basic Law Enforcement Academy and holds a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from the University of Houston Downtown, according to agenda documents.
