Henderson Police Department investigates misappropriation of Henderson Boys Baseball Association funds

The Henderson Boys Baseball Association (HBBA) has announced placement of a new board, as allegations of wrongdoing from a previous member are under active investigation.

According to a statement released by HBBA officials, concerns were brought forward that association funds were being misappropriated by a board member.

After gathering information and collaborating with the Henderson Police Department, the board was able to confirm the suspected misappropriation of funds and confronted the individual. Wrongdoing was allegedly admitted and the board member resigned from their position.

“The goal of the Henderson Boys Baseball Association is to provide a safe, fun athletic season for its members and their families,” HBBA officials said in their released statement. “Any misconduct will not be tolerated.”

“The HBBA Board would like to thank those members who brought this information to light and the current board members who have stepped in during this difficult situation. The Board would like to acknowledge the continued efforts of the Henderson Police Department as this continues to unfold. Most importantly, the Board appreciates the support of the community as we work together to move forward and rebuild the organization into what it was and should always be a safe learning environment focused on instilling great values into our youth.”

HBBA is a designated 501©(3) serving Henderson and the Rusk County area. They have been a DIXIE Baseball affiliated organization since 1976. Board Officers are Raymond Murillo, President, Dillon Heim, Vice President, Shawn Ishee, Treasurer, Macie Rogers, Secretary, Shannon Sanders, Umpire in Charge, and Jesse Greene, Players Agent.

The HPD investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made, further details will be released as they are received.
