Prior to joining the staff in Roanoke, Lester worked with the cities of Arlington, Weatherford and Colleyville. He has years of expertise in financial management and long-term planning, as well as Government Finance Office Administration best practices, according to a city news release.

"Under Kyle’s leadership, the city of Colleyville implemented a grant and comprehensive investment program, which totaled more than $70 million in cash and investments," the release stated.

Lester also has experience in overseeing departmental reorganizations, partnerships and interlocal agreements and debt management programs and initiatives.

The finance department involves areas of budget document preparation, financial statement preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, fixed assets and purchasing, according to the city website.
