New city manager appointed in Groves

Groves — He has 30 plus years of experience in city government, and Kevin Carruth says that prepared him for his new role as Groves city manager.

There are several concerns residents would like Carruth and the city to address.

"I would like the streets. The streets are my main thing. The streets need a whole lot of repair. Hurricanes. floods, all that," says Sara Erwin, a Groves resident.

Carruth says he's listening to understand the city's needs, starting with the wastewater system.

"It's all kind of rolled in together because under the roads you have sewer lines. Drainage has an impact on the conditions as well. Again, it all costs money, so we need to prioritize what we can handle with the resources we have," says Carruth.

Carruth says to set priorities.. he'll meet with council and everyone else who has a stake in the city's future.
