Transportation options in New Braunfels will be one step closer to fruition as City Council is set to adopt the Transit Development Plan and discuss its implementation Nov. 13.
Two-minute impact
City officials will begin with a microtransit system and, over time, there will be fixed-route additions that will be complementary.
The ultimate goal, according to agenda documents, is to establish a self-sustaining and improved transit system for the public.
A nearly $132,000 contract will be up for deliberation with Alliance Transportation Group officials for their support to implement the plan and ensure all requirements are met to receive federal funding needed.
What else?
City Council is also set to consider the following at the Nov. 13 meeting:
- $375,936 to connect water, wastewater to the city's newest fire station near FM 306
- Establishing a no-parking zone on Fair Lane off Common Street
- Street name changes
