Transportation options in New Braunfels will be one step closer to fruition as City Council is set to adopt the Transit Development Plan and discuss its implementation Nov. 13.

Two-minute impact

Over the last several months, city staff have worked in collaboration with Alliance Transportation Group to narrow down the preferred transit options for residents.

City officials will begin with a microtransit system and, over time, there will be fixed-route additions that will be complementary.

The ultimate goal, according to agenda documents, is to establish a self-sustaining and improved transit system for the public.

A nearly $132,000 contract will be up for deliberation with Alliance Transportation Group officials for their support to implement the plan and ensure all requirements are met to receive federal funding needed.

What else?

City Council is also set to consider the following at the Nov. 13 meeting: Council will meet at 6 p.m. at City Hall, located at 550 Landa St., New Braunfels. Click here to review the full agenda.
