Dallas police officer shot while serving warrant, police sources say

DALLAS — A Dallas police officer was shot in the leg while helping serve a warrant in northeast Dallas on Thursday morning, police sources told WFAA.
One suspect was also shot during the incident, and another suspect was arrested, the sources told WFAA.
The incident happened in the 9900 block of Adleta Boulevard and was ongoing around 8:30 a.m., just northeast of Interstate 635 off Skillman Street.
Sources told WFAA that officers were trying to enter a home to serve a warrant when a suspect opened fire on officers. The officers returned fire, shooting one suspect, the sources said.
One officer was shot in the leg during the incident and taken to Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, the sources said. The officer is expected to be OK.
The injured suspect was taken to a hospital in serious condition, sources said, but more information was not released.
The name of the suspects and the officer have not been released.
More information about the shooting and the initial warrant being served was not immediately available.
