There will be two items on the agenda at Tuesday’s Killeen City Council meeting related to taxiway rehabilitation at the Killeen Regional Airport.
The resolutions will be for $271,416 and $269,200 — for a total of $540,616.
The presentation attached to Tuesday’s council agenda for one of the taxiway rehabilitation items says the project will include rehabilitation of the asphalt with construction for 15-foot shoulders as well as removing and replacing the lighting.
This, the presentation says, will increase safety and “provide long-term economic stability” of the airport by decreasing maintenance costs.
The project is receiving funds from the Airport Improvement Program grant.
The second airport item increases the amount of work time for the project to 168 calendar days.
The City Council in September changed the name of the Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport to the Killeen Regional Airport.
The airport has gone through numerous improvements approved by the City Council including a Federal Aviation Administration grant of $267,322 in September.
Other items on the council’s consent agenda include:
- Authorizing a grant application for the Governor Homeland Security Grant Program.
- Stonetree drainage improvements for $127,310.
- W.S. Young Drive and I-14 drainage improvements for $68,700.
The council meeting begins at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers in City Hall, 101 N. College St., Killeen.
For those unable to attend the meeting in person, it will be web streamed live and archived for playback on the city’s website, KilleenTexas.gov. It will also be broadcast live on Spectrum Cable Channel 10.
