Buda welcomes new public information officer

Henley will serve as the city of Buda's new public information officer.
City Manager Micah Grau appointed Michelle Henley as Buda's new public information officer, according to a July 16 news release.
The detailsHenley has over a decade of live production experience, and several years of journalism and strategic communications experience. She previously worked as a marketing specialist in the community
relations and destination services department with the city for the last two and half years, according to a news release. Henley designed, planned and executed marketing campaigns for city events, such as
Budafest,
Buda's Birthday and
Sip N Stroll.
She had also been working as interim public information officer following former Director of Communications LaMarriol Smith's retirement announcement, which was effective May 31.

"I grew up in this community, and it's exciting to serve my hometown in this new way," Henley said in a news release.
Henley will
assume her new position on July 22 and serve as the official spokesperson for the city of Buda. She will also work toward fostering a positive relationship between the city and its residents.
