Justin Balderas has been named assistant city manager for the City of Levelland.

The announcement comes after Balderas has served in an interim capacity since the April departure of former Assistant City Manager Joe Cavazos.

“The City of Levelland couldn’t be more excited about Justin. He has served as our Economic Development Director since 2022 and has proven himself to be huge asset. During his time serving in the interim position, he has stepped in to lead multiple departments with an unwavering commitment to building on our vision for the growth and development of Levelland,” said James Fisher, Levelland City Manager.

Balderas, who will continue to serve as the Executive Director of the Levelland Economic Development Corporation, served as the Executive Development Director of the Littlefield Economic Development Corporation. He has worked in both federal and municipal government sectors and served in the United States Marine Corps for eight years.
